SOL Cocina donates $1 from every Watermelon Margarita sold in October to Breast Cancer Solutions
In conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, SOL Cocina will be launching Drink Pink!, a fundraising campaign that will donate $1 from every sale of the restaurant’s signature Watermelon Margarita to help a local charity that provides resources for those with breast cancer. At SOL Newport Beach, Drink Pink! will benefit Breast Cancer Solutions, an organization that provides breast cancer patients throughout Southern California with direct assistance, community referrals, and compassionate support. In Scottsdale, Arizona, the campaign will benefit Bosom Buddies of Arizona, an organization of caring volunteers who have personal experience dealing with the challenges of breast cancer.
“SOL decided to launch what we hope will become an annual campaign, with our female diners in mind,” says Matt Baumayr, Managing Partner of SOL Mexican Cocina. “Our Watermelon Margarita is the perfect drink for this month-long fundraiser – it’s simple, yet complex in flavor with muddled watermelon, Corralejo Blanco Tequila, simple syrup and fresh lime juice. We hope to raise a significant amount for each of our local beneficiaries.”
