Last weekend Kim and I went to Las Vegas for another weekend foodie adventure. This time, the plan was to chase some of the 19 gourmet food trucks roaming the streets of Las Vegas, NV.
As we were driving over the top of the hill and finally setting our eyes on Vegas, Kim started to search twitter for where our first stop was going to be. While doing so, she came across a tweet from Slider Truck, a great food truck which we had tried on a prior visit. They were tweeting about a Food Network filming that was happening the next day with special guest trucks from the OC. Needless to say we could not pass up the opportunity to check it out. We followed @SliderTruck most of the night and the next day to see if we could glean more. Both the Lime Truck and Seabirds truck were going to be at the Slidin’ Thru headquarters.
Turns out the Food Network was taping a segment for the Great Food Truck Race Season 2. I’m not sure what the challenge was but both @SeabirdsTruck and @theLimeTruck were teamed up with the Slider Truck for a fun foodie evening.
As always Chef Jason from the Lime Truck was killing it with an amazing menu, which included arrogant mussels, crab and scallop ceviche, Ahi Poke and much more. The Seabirds truck was knocking out its fresh vegetarian and vegan fare. We made sure to do our “OC” duty and supported both trucks and got to eat some delicious grub.
Here are some photos from the event:
I cannot wait to see what happens when the show airs later this year. We hope Seabirds and the Lime Truck can battle it out in the finals!
